Spain vs Croatia probably the best game so far. If that croat (forgot his name) that was free against the goalkeeper had scored in overtime it would have been 4-3 croatia and everything might have been very different. Now Spain take the lead through Morata and you actually saw the energy leak out of the croatians after that. Good game!!

Deschamps was humbled! He should never have played Benzema over Giroud! Also, why the heck did he suddenly start to play with 3 defenders in the middle and two wingbacks?? Before he always played with 4 defenders. It spread through the whole team, Pogba and Kante in midfield did not find anyone to play with, the defenders looked like they didn't know how to play in this new system. The defense at the first goal was bad because of it. The first half was a gift from France to Switzerland. They were slightly better in the second half but the damage was done. Primaraly a tactical defeat. Deschamps responsibility. |

Then again, the players don't pick themselves. So yes, Deschamps is mainly to blame. And what was with the decision to play Benzema over Giroud? I know Benzema scored, but Giroud's overall play is better and France seem a much surer team with him in attack. Ridiculous decision from Deschamps.
Although, credit to Switzerland. They were excellent. Especially Xhaxa, my man of the match. I wish he played like that for Arsenal! |

If he had taken them then it would have been a simple game for Spain because, honestly, Croatia aren't good, especially defensively.
Also, Morata kicked a Croatia player towards the end of the game for no reason. He's a douche who deserves his terrible goal scoring record. |

If he had taken them then it would have been a simple game for Spain because, honestly, Croatia aren't good, especially defensively.
Also, Morata kicked a Croatia player towards the end of the game for no reason. He's a douche who deserves his terrible goal scoring record. It was a joy to see Modrics passing game though. Sadly for him his surroundings arent even close to what he has in Madrid. So far as his energy was there he was very good but he died slowly in overtime. |

Well, first half of England vs Germany was a real snoozer........ Did they even want to attack? The english were sometimes even parodic when you saw a player go forward another screamed at him to stay back. Boring Cowards.

Yep, Germany didn't play well. But that doesn't excuse the fact that Rice should have been sent off for fouling Werner when he had a goal scoring opportunity. Again, corrupt FIFA/UEFA officials. Also, it didn't help that Muller missed several golden chances.
Low will get the blame for this and, in my opinion, unfairly so.

How many chances did Morata have? It seems like he requires a billion chances before he scores! I know he did end up getting one, but heck, I'd have scored one with that many chances!

Yep, Muller wasn't the best. Although, Gnabry was awful as well, he gave the ball away which lead to the second goal. And there's Werner ... sigh ...

Well, that Switzerland - Spain game was ... eventful. I have no idea why the Swiss player was sent off? How is that a sending off offence? Then again, the referee's from England are notorious for being terrible, so there is that. But VAR should have changed the decision, why didn't they? Also, Morata kicked a player at the end of the Croatia game, which was far worse than what the Swiss player did for this match, and he didn't get sent off?! Regardless, Switzerland did well to get it to penalties and should have won it. They blew multiple chances in the shoot out, what got me was when a Swiss player went in the EXACT SAME DIRECTION that the previous penalty miss went! WTF!!? The Swiss keeper is really great as well.
I wasn't impressed with Italy in the previous game, but they really stepped up in this match against Belgium, who were really shocking. It seems that the Belgians have a habit for bottling major tournaments. Mancini is an excellent manager and I think he's really made a difference for this Italian side. Overall, Italy deserved to go through against the Belgians and they are my choice to win it! They have a much better team than the English, go Italia!
