That sounds delicious
I found this article about 19 foods you can have that are water-rich to help us stay hydrated:
(Cucumber is one of those foods)
Prepping it for tomorrow:
Country-style BBQ ribs, a pot of navy beans, cucumber onion salad (like Frank mentioned), stewed red potatoes, and cornbread. I'm making a banana cream cheese poundcake for dessert. Oh my goodness - I will have one rib, half a cup of navy beans, lots of cucumber onion salad, a few potatoes and maybe a teeny slice of that cornbread - it all sounds so delicious!
Last night I made pancakes using cottage cheese, grated orange rind and some oat bran mixed in with the regular flour. I also put one small container of orange yogurt in with the milk. The recipe called for lemon juice as well.
They turned out really good and I ate mine with stewed blueberry and raspberry compote. (It looks like Sundrop blue raspberries!)
No idea what to make for supper but I will go through my Looneyspoons cook book today to see if there are any other good recipes I can try.

I've been into pepperoncinis lately. Putting them on salads and sandwiches. Yum. Found a delicious sliced variety at a natural grocer. Couldn't find the sliced again, so bought a jar of whole. Messier and a tad spicier, but still tasty.

Made a batch of salsa tonight. Mostly as a gift for someone. I keep tweaking it little by little each time. Maybe someday it will be almost perfect.

Me ‘n Muskie Jr about to chow down some deluxe all-killer meatloaf, party potatoes, French bread, and...wait for it...a big ol mess of morel mushrooms—lightly breaded and fried in real butter. You should smell my kitchen right now...oh god...
And, like Pere Callahan, I wash pots and pans as I go, so ain’t no huge mess to clean up after, when I’m all stuffed and sluggish.
Well, boils and ghouls, time to strap on the old feed bag...

Cheeseburgers on the grill, onion rings, Pinot Grigio—lots of. That’s how we roll tonight, folks. Have a glass of pinot grigio for me muskrat ! That's my favorite white wine. Should've had some on hand for today. It was almost 100 degrees with over 40 mph winds. Gross. A cold glass (or bottle! ) of pinot grigio would've been divine. Mmmmm.

You are nuts!

Actually if I were to cook a leg of lamb I bet Andy would love me for that. That is one meat I am not a big fan of - I think because my mother would buy the cheap cuts when we were young. It was actually mutton I think which is an older sheep (yuck) - I couldn't stand the smell of the mutton cooking and there was no way I was going to try it.
Funny how childhood experiences influence our tastebuds.
Just for a laugh I should find out if there is any way to buy one of these "legs of lamb" don't worry - I won't freeze it! LOL

I'm smiling while reading this story because you're one of the few people I know who also doesn't like lamb. When I was a teenager,I lived with my best friend's family for a while. Her mom made leg of lamb for special occasions and all the kids in their family would go crazy looking forward to it, saying how good it smelled while it was in the oven, etc.... Meanwhile, I was dreading having to eat it. 😩 Also....mutton always reminds me of the Seinfeld episode when Elaine had dinner w/ Jerry & his cousin. Elaine didn't like mutton, so she wrapped it up in her napkin when the cousin wasn't looking. Then she stuck it in her purse and a bunch of stray dogs followed her home.😄

That's good - I don't remember that episode. I do enjoy watching the old Seinfeld shows now and then.
Yesterday we had homemade beef vegetable soup. That was really good (Andy made it) plus we had some chicken thighs he cooked in a sauce with onions and peas.
I made two loaves of bread (one white and one 50% whole wheat).
Not sure what's for supper tonight maybe I'll be adventurous and buy lamb (but just the little lamb chops instead)

I had some this morning and it was pretty good. I've never tried that recipe but it looks good - up here we normally eat it hot, especially in the winter (think I will have some today, even though it's not cold out)
It stays with you for a long time, not like some cereals where you get hungry again fast

Oatmeal is kind of boring (unless we are talking oatmeal cookies ), so it's nice to have an alternative way to eat it.
