Last night I finished up a video of Hamlet that the RSC released...in '09, I think. It has my beloved mad Scotsman in the title role and Patrick Stewart as Claudius.
I was feeling a little intimidated by this one; I haven't attempted to watch anything Shakespearean since high school, which was a long time ago. However, when it finally occurred to me to turn on the subtitles so I could follow the dialogue more easily, I fell in love with it.
And yes...it's every bit as spellbinding as advertised.
Next up: Storm of the Century! Great Movie,Tanith, have fun.

Has anyone watched Everything Everywhere All At Once ?
I didn't know it's a SciFi Movie until today. Googled it, and it sounds interesting.

Thanks for the tip on this one! We watched Signs recently on Netflix. It's a Polish series with only 2 seasons, although a Google search says season 3 is out and 4 is in production. We binged quite a few series of Harlan Coben's books in February until we got bored of his style and similar mechanics in every story. I found Joe Lansdale's Hap and Leonard on Netflix last weekend and binged the 3 seasons. It's only available until March 5th. I like Lansdale's books and characters. Thumbs up for Hap and Leonard! Kloe is a GDR agent in the late 80s and gets betrayed by her agency and thrown in prison. When the GDR falls, she is released as a political prisoner and starts figuring out who threw her in prison and tracking them down. When the agency finds out she's out, they are trying to eliminate her too. It's an action show with a lot of humor and a little late 80s GDR history lesson. Enjoying Kleo! Thanks!

Next up: Storm of the Century! Great Movie,Tanith , have fun. Unfortunately I'll have to table it for now. When I opened the case I found the disc to be in a terrible state, badly scratched and cracked on the interior. I'm afraid to put it in my player...not sure if our sister library (where it came from) is aware of its condition, but when I bring it back next week I'll attach a note.
Now, here's the funny part!
Yesterday at work a patron came up to me holding Camping, a comedy-drama miniseries my mad Scotsman did with Jennifer Garner a few years back. Not the first time they've worked together, but they're playing drastically different roles than they played in Jessica Jones. He's pretending to be your average friendly American dork, she's playing his crazily organized wife. They're off on a camping trip with a few other couples in various states of neurotic.
Anyway, this patron says "This is not what I expected, I thought it was a book. Could you cancel it and send it back, please?" I told her I would and realized two things immediately:
- This series was on my "to be watched" list under "Mad Scotsman".
- This is the lone copy of said series in our entire 300+ library system. If I don't grab it now, there's no telling when I'd see it again!
Now, what are the chances of something like this literally being handed to me the same week the series I'd planned to watch has to be sent unwatched (and probably marked for deletion) back to its home library? The universe is strange, I tell you!

Yap, the universe is mysterious and confusing sometimes. But hey, good for you.

Watching another German series on Netflix called Dark. It's a mind bender and a bit confusing but I like it.
When watching foreign language movies, I always pick subtitles over dubbed but with a series, I mix it up because 10 episodes of subtitles can be too much. My complaint with Dark, is that the dubbing is terrible. It sounds like people reading the script without much enthusiasm. With Kleo, on the other hand, I thought the dubbing was very well done. If you watch Dark, go with the subtitles or learn German.

The Mandalorian 3/6
This episode was pretty funny and entertaining. I did not expect to see Detectives Djarin and Kryze in an episode of "Law & Order: Droid Victims Unit"

Getting kinda tired this afternoon, I think I’ll go pick up where I left off on “Masters of Horror” on tubi. Mick Garris created this series for Showtime, I think (so far) it’s even better than HBO’s “Tales from the Crypt”, Commander osnafrank . Have a Gute Nacht Frank, Bis Denne. 😊🎶💤

FX’s “Great Expectations”. This is turning out to be an awesome adaption. 4 episodes in now.
I see that Tom Hardy is a producer on this one, I’d like to give his “Taboo” another rewatch sometime.

Right now I'm giving Good Omens a rewatch...season 2 is suppose to hit sometime this summer, so I figured that was reason enough!
Well, that and my beloved mad Scotsman, of course...though I can't quite enjoy his lovely eyes so much, because he's channeling that snaky character of his...

The Mandalorian 3/8
After the previous episode, it was pretty obvious that the season finale would be action-packed, but did anyone expect it to be this action-packed?
The ending felt like a Series Finale.
