Good for you! Enjoy!
Now you can watch 11.22.63 as well.
Yes, thanks. Looking forward to it.
I tried to read the book, but it was very dry.
I thought it was very good, but I'm not that into historical fiction. So it might be a while before I re-read that one. Haven't finished the miniseries yet.

Wow - just goes to show how different people react to different books - I thought 11/22/63 was fantastic!
Which book of Stephen King's is your favorite?
(noticed I used the American spelling of favourite?) lol d025

How about you?

Hi Neesy, huge fan of Salems Lot, that even includes both versions of the made for TV movie.
How about you? Like I said, I enjoyed 11/22/63 plus there are so many others - Bag of Bones, Joyland, Eyes of the Dragon, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon plus I even enjoyed Gerald's Game. I like his short story collections. (To be honest, I am not a Dark Tower junkie - I only got as far as the fourth book in the series). Maybe that is why I did not mind the movie that was based on the books. Some think it is a travesty.
Last night I watched a DVD of "A Good Marriage" and even though the screen play was by Stephen King, it seemed that they changed it a bit - I will have to pull out "Full Dark, No Stars" (I think that is the one with this story in it) and check.
I liked the short story "Big Driver" even though it was creepy as hell. I even enjoyed the made-for-TV movie that was done of it.
The only story I haven't tried of his is that baseball book he wrote. Plus the collaborations with Peter Straub are still pending.
I like some of Joe Hill's stuff as well, especially NOS4A2.
I collect Stephen King books and have almost everything he has ever written. A good friend on here was nice enough to send me a copy of "On Writing". I am not a writer but found that book very good as well.
Which ones do you favour?
p.s. I will have to come back to read your answer - we need to go to the bank soon, so I have to step out for a bit.

I thought Nightmares & Dreamscapes was great as both a read, and a listen. I traveled through Pennsylvania to Erie listening to that the whole time. Umneys Last Case was mind boggling to me since I was a young PI, going out on his first "BIG CASE".
Everything's Eventual was another great one for me. Stand By Me was the first movie I saw out of bootcamp, it was also the very first SK story (The Body) I ever read, although I had seen his earlier films.
I guess after sometime in 1986, I became a regular reader..

I'm not a big Dark Tower fan, either. I prefer his straight-forward novels but I don't mind an occasional DT reference. (We better not say this too loud or we will get tossed off the reservation, ha.) "Big Driver" was a great novella and the adaptation was outstanding. Same with "1922". Neesy, did you like The Talisman? I want to read it again and I will be looking for a copy of NOS4A2.

Thank you, Morgan, but I still owe you a package! If I don't find a copy by Christmas I will let you know. Incidentally, people online said Christmas was the perfect season to read this book.
I watched a few Ozark (season one) episodes again, too. I want to watch season two but I am not dying to see it or anything. I hate the profanity...I can block it out, I guess, but in a show like this or The Sopranos it is constant. Realism and all that, eh?
This morning I saw PBS was streaming one of my favorite shows, A Chef's Life, for free until after Labor Day. I watched most of the latest season. It's a show about Vivian Howard, a chef, and her husband Ben who live on a farm in Kinston, North Carolina. She owns a restaurant called The Chef and The Farmer and everything on the menu is farm-to-table. Each episode shows her interviewing people she grew up with (her parents, her black housekeeper, farmers, friends) to learn how different crops are grown and she often learns recipes for favorite dishes from her childhood. Recent episodes featured talk about heirloom tomatoes, pole beans, broccoli, catching trout, making bourbon, and different ways to make cornbread. She fried cornbread in a cast iron skillet like a hush puppy and sliced one open- in the middle she scooped vinegar-based cole slaw (pink and purple) and crab salad. A more common meat would be barbecued pulled pork. It makes me drool.

Lansdale and Hideaway by Koontz if you're interested.
I would love to watch A Chef's Life! Do I just go to PBS's website?

Yes, go to PBS.org. Click on Shows. Choose A Chef's Life and you're off to the races. I think today is the last day, not sure. Two of my favorite episodes are when she learned how to can dill pickles and how to preserve figs. I'm not a Lansdale fan and I have read Hideaway, but thank you for offering.

Right now?? I am watching Fast and Furious 7 (LOVE these movies!!) Hope that #8 is shown on television soon. It seems strange to see Paul Walker in these movies now. He passed away some time ago. He and Vin Diesel made a good pair in the F & F movies.
