Karen, and the kids put it up last night.
We will all be tired of looking at it by the time Christmas gets here!!

Tradition to put up the tree, 4 foot on a table, day after Thanksgiving. Then spend weekend decorating the rooms. Critters looking at all the new additions (toys)!

Traditionally, Munchkin and I put up our tree and decorations the day after Thanksgiving, and listen to Christmas music while we are working. We bought some new ornaments this year, but the snowflakes for my Grandma and the Grinch for my brother will always remain. I love stockings, and usually hang about a dozen throughout the house. After supper, we watch A Tuna Christmas, eat popcorn and drink hot cocoa or cider. Munchkin can't eat popcorn with the braces, so we're having cheese puffs this year. We'll leave the decorations up until New Year's day.

I sw a picture on FB that will describe our tree. It said, "oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, your ornaments are history". It was a picture of 2 cats. Already we have had to get the kitten out of the tree about 3 times, and I heard her this morning playing with one of the ornaments. My big boy likes to lay under the tree. It is going to be a long holiday!!

I think if I had put ours up on Black Friday (the day following American Thanksgiving) I really would get sick of it by the end of December 
Instead yesterday we just went to a movie. (but the traffic was awful! - so many shoppers out and about already)

I got kitten problems also! Tiger is chewy the packages under the tree!! (Yes, Karen is done her shopping , and has all of it wrapped up!)

My oldest son and I put 2 trees up the day after Thanksgiving. One was in the basement, other brand new in box. Wife bought new one to put in other window because my daughter says she doesn't do Christmas like she is supposed to. Actually called her the Grinch.
Anyway wife bought everyone personal ornaments for the year, mine is shotgun shells (Can you say stereotypical redneck?)
My daughter's was a glass Eiffel Tower as she had a college trip to Paris. Yeah past tense is correct conjugation. Ten seconds after receiving it she dropped on hardwood while trying to take pic for instachat.
And another family story is born.

As does everything now, reminds me of a story involving of course me!
Had a good friend of mine, female of course, make me a birthday pound cake. She had her husband deliver it, also a friend. A piece was missing. He told me he had to try it and make sure it was done. Still had crumbs on his shirt.
Oh wait this is about you so...

Since the kids are gone we are in no hurry to put up a tree these days. I tend to just put up a two foot pre-lighted one on a bookshelf near the window. Sometimes I put lights on the porch but nothing like the old days when I outlined every detail of the house in colored lights like a gingerbread house. One thing we always do is to watch A Garfield Christmas. Nothing takes me back to the days of kids in the house more than that one. Warms my heart like a wood burning cat.
