“….Scooby Doo after one too many Red Bulls.” 😆👏❗️ I like that fushingfeef , good one. 😊
I love Klaus Kinski, and I’m looking around to find “Creature with the Blue Hand”. I’ve never seen that one.
Last night over dinner I watched…..
15. “The Wicker Man” 1973
Christopher Lee, Edward Woodward, Britt Ekland, Ingrid Pitt
I have heard of this original film over the years, but I have never seen it!
Oh my stars and flamin’ garters! I did not expect that! 😳
It was very different from my one time watch of the 2006 remake with Nick Cage.
Awesome cast and performances, and what a story. 😳 The ending was rather chilling, and very sad and tragic. 💔
I know! Right? 😂 Anything that makes Mr. Feef use descriptions like that is going to be a must see!
And KLAUS plays TWINS in it! 😃
I hope it gets around to tubi sometime! Might have to have it for MM one Saturday.

16. “Freeway 2” 1999 Horrific Thriller Comedy
Natasha Leone, Vincent Gallo, David Alan Grier, Max Perlich
Freeway 2 doesn’t have as many ‘names’ in its cast as Freeway 1, but it is just as darkly funny.
And it far outshines #1 in the disturbing horrific aspects and the freaky deaky goriness.
There’s a few scenes that make the ’Gooshy Stuff-ometer’ go absolutely NUTS. …....like a Geiger counter at ground zero of Chernobyl.

15.) Scream VI (FTV 4/5)
Four survivors of the Ghostface murders leave Woodsboro behind for a fresh start in New York City. However, they soon find themselves in a fight for their lives when a new killer embarks on a bloody rampage.
One of the best in the franchise. An evenly paced slasher, chilling at times, with a surprising amount of heart and buckets of blood.
Ghostface in this film is a brutal, scary and genuine full stop no nonsense threat. But he's facing determined survivors. Fights in this film are often full blown brawls, bloody and brutal that take place during some wonderfully shot set pieces.

17. “Hellboy : The Crooked Man” 2024
Jack Kesy
Don’t watch this because it says it’s a Hellboy movie. It is nothing like it’s predecessors, and no one can compare to Ron Perlman as Big Red. Jack Kesy was much better as Bolivar in ‘The Strain’.
This film is like a complete ‘Appalachian Witch tale’ set in 1959, that they threw Big Red into, just to draw in a larger audience.
And yes, it looks as terrible as the trailers make you suspect.
But it has a few moments, and it isn’t THAT awful. I didn’t change the channel. But I won’t be looking to rewatch it at anytime.
You make up your own mind about you think about it. 🙂
The one thing I really disliked is that they brought in a piece of Red’s back story, that I think they should have left out completely.
In fact if the makers had come up with a totally different original character of their own, this wouldn’t be that bad of a flick.
Overall it does have a pretty good Halloween story feel.
’The Crooked Man’ is really nothing more than another variation of an ‘Old Scratch’ malevolent character. And really not like the man of nursery rhyme.
In fact a better film about that character is “The Crooked Man” 2016, with Dina Myer, Michael Jai White and Marco Rodriguez.

The Horror! 😱 Arachnophobes gird your loins and report to your quartermasters. 🕷️🕸️
This is excellent! Loved everything about this movie.
(This flicker show is currently scuttling and scurrying through the halls of Hulu right now. We need to brush up on spiderweb Karate training skills, wireman . 😳)

11. Thinner- 1996-Billy Halleck (Robert John Burke) is an obese lawyer who accidentally hits a Gypsy with his car after his wife distracts him. Given Halleck's influence in town and a general prejudice against Gypsies, he manages to brush the incident under the rug with some unethical legal help from his associates. However, the victim's father, Tadzu Lempke (Michael Constantine), places a curse on the heavyset man, and he starts to lose weight at an alarming rate, which is followed by other macabre events.
12. Silver Bullet - 1985-When a series of unexplained murders occurs in the normally quiet town of Tarker's Mill, the residents decide to hunt down the killer. However, many of these vigilantes end up dead, and those who don't are no closer to finding an assailant. But, when a young wheelchair-using boy named Marty (Corey Haim) encounters a werewolf one night, the pieces begin to come together. Along with his sister and Uncle Red (Gary Busey), Marty begins a mission to capture the werewolf once and for all.
13. Below- 2002-The submarine U.S.S. Manta had a perfect record until the mysterious death of its captain. The next-in-command, Lt. Richard Brice (Bruce Greenwood) is determined to steer his disheartened crew back to safety. But after three battle survivors board the sub, bizarre and frightening things begin to happen. As the tale unfolds, and crew members begin to disappear, Ensign Douglas O'Dell (Matthew Davis) must piece together the puzzles of the submarine's past before it is too late to resurface alive.
14. Graveyard Shift- 1990- John Hall (David Andrews) is a drifter who wanders into a small town in Maine. He needs a job and decides to seek employment at the community's top business: a large textile mill. He is hired to work the "graveyard shift" -- from around midnight to dawn -- and, along with a few others, he is charged with cleaning out the basement. This task strikes the workers as simple enough, but then, as they proceed deeper underground, they encounter an unspeakable monstrosity intent on devouring them all.
`15. Orphan- 2009-Devastated by the loss of their unborn baby, Kate (Vera Farmiga) and John (Peter Sarsgaard) decide to adopt a child. At the orphanage, both feel drawn to a little girl (Isabelle Fuhrman) named Esther, and soon the couple take their new daughter home. But when a dangerous series of events unfolds, Kate begins to suspect that there is something evil lurking behind the child's angelic exterior.

16.) Alien-Romulus (FTV 4,5/5)
Space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life-form in the universe while scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station.
Absolutely enjoyed this film.
Definitely the best Alien since the first two.
A horror, suspenseful, harrowing, two hour thrill ride that never seemed to bore me.

13. Maniac (1934) (FTV) 14. House of Mystery (1934) (FTV) 15. My World Dies Screaming (FTV) 16. The Nightmare Before Christmas 17. The She Beast (FTV)
This is a “catch up” review after I was away. I watched several movies, some of which were free on YouTube, and I can see why they were free. They mostly aren’t worth reviewing, although each has their strange or notable moments.
I’ve seen Nightmare Before Christmas many times, but this was the first time I’ve seen it as a 4DX movie. Honestly, it doesn’t need the 4DX treatment. A gimmick that takes you out of the movie is the opposite of “immersive”.
The She Beast was of interest primarily for being directed by the guy who gave us Witchfinder General, Michael Reeves. Unfortunately, this was his directorial debut so he ceded to pressures to mix in wacky comedy with the horror, and it simply doesn’t work. Another plus would be the presence of Barbara Steele, but alas, she is only in the first 30 minutes despite being given top billing.
A mixed bag. Bob's October 2024 Horror Movie List *FTV denotes first-time viewings 1. The Last Voyage of the Demeter 3/5 (FTV) 2. Kwaidan 4.5 (FTV) 3. The Sect 3.5 (FTV) 4. Longlegs 4/5 (FTV) 5. 18. Silent Hill (FTV)
A woman searches an abandoned town for clues to her adopted daughter’s past, only to uncover a horrific secret.
The phrase “based on a video game” kept me from viewing this film for nearly 2 decades, but good word of mouth finally forced me to give it consideration, and I’m so glad I did. The movie swings for the fences in terms of actual scares, and it mostly succeeds. The setting is incredibly atmospheric, especially for fans of abandoned structures and urban exploration. The paint is peeling, dark hallways loom like the open mouths of waiting monsters, and you can practically smell the mildew. Think Session 9 on a grander scale.
The CGI creature effects are a bit dated but never as creaky as the ones Will Smith fought a year later (with a much bigger budget) in I Am Legend. Based on the in-game screengrabs I’ve seen, at least they are appropriately faithful to the original video game. The dark, nearly colorless cinematography is reminiscent of an industrial music video, and the sound and editing are excellent. The story runs a bit longish, but honestly I was never bored—everything seemed like it belonged. Well, maybe not the Sean Bean/police subplot, but sometimes the audience needs to step back and breathe.
A fine mix of scares, atmosphere, and story from the mid-2000’s.

A very well made, classic slice of 1980's Horror. It's a great example of how cool Werewolf movie's can be if done correctly.

I think those damn nurses in ‘Silent Hill’ were pretty icky and disturbing, lol.
Grotesque nightmare heads on monsters with otherwise fairly normal bodies and/or garb seem to always make your skin crawl a bit.
Especially with the abnormal off kilter ways of moving. ….like the menacing nun, arms outstretched straight ahead, and walking so fast behind the nurse with the red sweater, in ‘The Exorcist III’. As well as the old resident crawling across the ceiling in her little house dress with her hair done up in that cheery little granny bun….yicky scary. 😳

19. “The Fly” 1986 Jeff Goldblum, Gina Davis
I saw the 1958 movie as a kid, and it scared the crap out of me.
Cronenberg did that again to everyone back in ‘86.
It has been so long since I had last seen this version, I’d forgotten how horrifying it really is. One of his best films.
And Strange Davy found the best worse place to insert his cameo.

Very good prequel to Silence Of The Lambs. But so was the movie Manhunter. Red Dragon has a lot more Hannibal in it than Manhunter did. I'm not sure which one I liked best (been a while since I've seen Manhunter) but you can't go wrong with either. 7/10

‘’Manhunter’ is the made for tv movie that Brian Cox played Hannibal in?
If it is, I want to see that one. I never got too when it aired on tv.
Steven Lang was Freddie Lounds in that one.
It always makes me chuckle when read or hear a Thomas Harris character’s name in a SK book/audiobook. Lounds and Bimmel are the two latest names he used, that I have found. 🙂
