Thanks for the heads up on that flick being on youtube francesca. Might find a little time to check that out after a long day. 🙂 This actually happened. The movie was loosely based on the Kathy Rowe case in Carmel Valley, California. Thank you. 🙂

I worked in the financial industry for many years, so I have never liked movies about bank robbers or criminals in general. I always wondered what the big deal was about Ocean's 11 and why they kept making sequels to it. I also wondered why everyone was so familiar with the characters even before the first movie came out. Then I found out it was a remake of a Rat Pack movie from 1960, which was on the TV yesterday.

I was like.. whaaaaat? Used to think those things had a long shelf life, they get kind of icky after just a month or two.. Of course a different company is making them now so that may be why.... But yeah, Double Tap, Emma Stone kicking a§§... Woody being well.. Woody.. and Rosario Dawson.. triple hitter..... Dexter was on last night so didn't watch a movie but tonight it's John Q, damn good movie but well, Denzel. Candyman 2020 is still 20 dollars, still waiting for that sale, maybe by black friday.

Hey, lil Sis. 😊 I meant that I think it will be a movie I will like to watch at Christmas time...because of a cool scene in it. I got distracted that night, and ended up staying up late doing other things 🙄 so I still need to see it again and watch it all the way through. But probably closer to X-Mas time. 😊😉

I'm giving the Child's Play remake again, it really isn't horrible, it just shouldn't have been done because the creator is still doing the old Chucky series of films, and has a Chucky show on SyFy, so putting out a remake while the original is still in play is just odd.
Secondly, it has a cool "AI gone bad" theme but they could have done it as a spin off, had the same company put out a new doll only this time around, AI is the problem. I'd have found it amusing because the poor company kept getting reamed.
Anywho, it has good moments... and its worth buying, it just doesn't come close to being as cool as Dourif as Chucky.
One thing I do like, Chucky, or Buddy, or whatever his name is in the remake, he seems to want to help the kid, but due to corrupt AI, and seeing a slasher film the kids are watching, his AI gets "tainted" so to speak. In the original, Chucky never wants to help Andy.

I'm 3 hours into the 1994 version of The Stand, first time I've seen it since well, 1994. I think I must have missed some of it the first time I watched it because I'm seeing parts I don't remember.
Its a little sad though, so many of the actors are has beens now, I remember when Molly Ringwald was the "IT" girl, now she has a bit role in Riverdale, and a few others, like Sinise, he's still around but playing in some dumb cop show I think. A few others just are totally out of the biz, and well, the same goes with the 1990 version of IT. Well Ritter and Anderson died, but even before they did, their careers were in the toilet, the funny thing is, Seth Greene, out of everyone from the 1990 cast stayed the most relevant.
But that's Hollywood... just all luck really, Cruise is still going strong, but so many from his early days are in Hallmark movies now.

I watched my favorite version of A Christmas Carol from 1939 with Reginald Owen. Hey Georgie! 😊 That is a great one, right there! I had it once, on VHS, but my dang old VCR ate it. 🤨 It was a tape I bought for my Gran, (amongst quite a few others) that we used to watch every year. 🙂
Yesterday late afternoon, I got to see the 1984 version of "A Christmas Carol" with George C. Scott, David Warner, and others. This one is another favorite remake. Like the one with Albert Finny too.😊
BUT last night I got to see a really cool sort of 'horror-comedy' on Hulu, loosely based on Santa/Krampus. A Finnish film on Hulu. (I'm really sure this one is Finnish)...
"Rare Exports : A Christmas Tale."
At first I was like, "What the hell?"😳🤔🤨 Then I got into it and it was really pretty good! 😆 The story was different, and had some great acting, even the kids! Got a kick out of them.😊
wireman the Taco Man, check it out if you get a chance to, you might like it. 😄

Watched "A Christmas Carol 2019" with Guy Pierce...a great film! 😄 applouse
Going to kick back and watch the 1999 version with Patrick Stewart. Really great cast in this one. 🙂
(The ghost of Christmas Present has always been my favorite in most of these remakes, especially 'Edward Woodard' in the 1984 version with George C Scott. I bet Lady spideyman and/or wireman and diobolic, might remember him in the "Equalizer" tv series of the 80's. He was a great actor, and excellent in that show.🙂)

Murder by Death.
Makes me laugh every time. If you like spoofs, crime, comedy and great acting this has it all. Very dry wit in places.

I said I was done but I kept getting told how cool Halloween Kills is, so when they released the extended cut last week I kept saying no, but well, being Christmas and having watched 3 Christmas movies yesterday, I was like, "may as well have a little Halloween on Christmas".
Gonna post a "dissect review" in a new thread however, there's just some things that I need to elaborate on, the new story is not fitting traditional slasher film rules whatsoever...

I watched a movie about one of my heroes, JRR Tolkien. I read most of his books 10 years ago, or at least all the ones that I could find. Attachments:
