Collateral (2004). Haven't seen this one since it was first released on DVD. Almost turned it off when I saw Tom Cruise (I'm not a fan! LOL). But I do like Jamie Foxx and Mark Ruffalo, so they made up for it. Very action packed. IMDb rated it 7.5/10. I probably would give it a 6.5, but it was a decent movie.

Kalifornia (1993). Decent movie. Brad Pitt's performance was a bit over the top and as much as I love David Duchovny, he was just okay IMO. But Juliette Lewis was brilliant!

Deadpool 2 X-Force Baby Bill Skarsgard in a Wood Chipper...very nice Idea We watched The Shape of Water - kind of interesting but a bit bizarre - the monster was well done.

Re-watched Mystic Pizza (1988) a few nights ago. Pretty sure this was the breakout role for Julia Roberts. And a young Vincent D'Onofrio...*swoon*

A couple nights ago, I watched Dallas Buyers Club (2013). I saw this movie the first time about a year after it was released. Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto were well-deserving recipients of their Academy Awards! (I have a MAJOR crush on Jared Leto, BTW! *blush*)

Last night I re-watched Steel Magnolias (1989). I've seen this movie several times and had thoroughly convinced myself that I wasn't going to cry this time. Wrong! The whole cast was good, but I really appreciated the performances by Tom Skerritt, Dolly Parton and Shirley MacLaine the most.

Saw a movie called The Imitation Game which was pretty good - based on a true story from the second World War - with Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley - not bad at all - sort of a historical drama with a good plot.

Leap Year (2010). Thought I'd seen this before, but I was wrong. A sappy rom-com, but it was still cute.
(Hey @woowoo001 I don't think you replied to my post on the SKMB. Why do you think I would like the movie The Swimmer?)

Just from the movies you've mentioned liking, punk!
The Swimmer, based on a John Cheever short-story, is the oddity of Hollywood oddities. I put it almost in the same category as art films like After Hours (1985) or Liquid Sky (1982)! Someone cast socially adrift and grasping onto whatever they can.
Some find it brilliant. A very young Joan Rivers even appears for a few minutes. Here, The Swimmer, one mo' time!

Wish I Was Here (2014). This is my favorite movie I've seen that Zach Braff has written and/or directed. Quirky story, funny and sad. Excellent performances. The only criticism I have is the choice of Kate Hudson as Braff's wife. They just didn't work as a believable couple IMO. But she did have an incredible scene with a different actor that was quite good.

Released on Netflix this weekend; I watched it today. Netflix is slowly demonstrating that it's more than just a dumping ground for films that are little better than direct-to-video fare, and this is a prime example. It is a well-done thriller with some surprising twists and a show-stopper of an event that takes place halfway through. You guys need to check this one out.
