I don't know why but this Pic reminds me of Blonde Mom from FTWD

Last night I watched Calibre (2018) on Netflix (the movie SK recently recommended on Twitter). Was a bit apprehensive because it involves a hunting trip. But it's more of a psychological thriller and not too gory.
I didn't like it as much as SK did, but it was interesting. (I've noticed King is very generous with his movie and book praises. I read at least six books on his reading list in On Writing and started two that I didn't finish. He was very kind in those reviews as well. )

Red Sparrow.
Good international spy thriller. Different sort of role for Jennifer Lawrence, I think (despite her marquee value, I haven't seen her in that much). She did quite well in the titular role, and the story kept us guessing.

"titular role"? That sounds titillating!
Okay - sorry - I will tone it down - this is a family forum, after all

I actually wrote "titular" while curious about who might pick up on that, especially given Ms. Lawrence's exposure in the film.
I swear, any number of comments that I hear in everyday life now bring "TWSS" to mind, thanks to you guys. Somebody I'm going to say it out loud.

Watched I, Tonya (2017) last night. Allison Janney (who played Tonya's mom) won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar. IMDb rates it a 7.5/10 which is spot on IMO.

I watched Snowden and thought it was good but the movie to watch on this subject is the documentary called Citizenfour. Joseph Gordon-Levitt does a good job as Snowden but you can't beat the real thing in Citizenfour. It's some chilling stuff.

Watched the documentary The Other F Word (2011) about middle aged punk rockers who now prioritize fatherhood. Most of the artists interviewed grew up without dads. It was interesting. Very crucial points made about judging people on merit, not appearance. IMDb rated 7.3/10.

I saw I,Tonya and thought it was very good. I liked the documentary style that was done with the character interviews. It told the story from all the different angles. My feeling is that Jeff is lying his a*s off. I think Tonya's account is mostly accurate but not completely. Tonya's mom was a piece of work.

I watched Room on Netflix. It is based on the novel of the same name. It stars Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay. A mother and her five year old son are held captive in a shed; the boy was born there and he knows nothing else of the world save that room and what he sees on television. There aren't any windows, only a skylight. I was surprised at how much it moved me.

Last night Julie and Julia was on TV. I had seen it when it came out with Andy (maybe that was 4 or 5 years ago) but decided to watch it again. Meryl Streep is good as Julia Child plus I like Amy Adams and Stanley Tucci (he plays Julia's husband).

I bought my mom a DVD of that movie when it came out. Not sure why she wanted to see it - not really her kind of movie. Maybe because of Meryl Streep.

It's a cute little story and based on an actual blog - the author's name was Julie Powell and she ended up writing a book that they based the movie on.
Hope your Mom liked it!
Hey - now that I know the address you gave me is your Mom's I was thinking I should send a card or something and address it to "Morgan's Mom" and put on the return address: {friend of Morgan's}

She would love that! Another SKMB friend sent her a book once. I always pass on the well-wishes of board members - I know it blesses her.
