Well, as long as we're telling origin stories, I might as well tell you about "Dr. Mephisto".
He's based on the great shock rockers I grew up with, of course. Gene Simmons, Alice Cooper, and bat-munching Prince of Darkness Ozzy. He's a blend of those guys, along with some character from a cheesy 80's movie called "Trick or Treat" I saw recently. And his strange name is inspired by the real name of one of H. P. Lovecraft's heroes, Lord Dunsany. Whose real name was Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett.
True story.
