💔❤
....I'm trying so hard to remember the all of the words written on one of the opening pages of this last volume...containing: 'redemption'.... and i'm remembering the grave yard scene with 'redemption' written on the fence(?), in the opening of the movie, "The Quick and the Dead"....been far too long since I've owned a copy of the book. I only got to read it the once. 💔 Reproduction Revelation Redemption Resumption Yap! applouse Thankee big big, Frank!

Technically, this book has two endings.
The first, after the epilogue "Susannah in New York", when Uncle Steve tells us, there aren't so such things as happy endings, and just stop reading here. (Susannah, Eddie, Jake, maybe Oy united again)
And, well, the ending, we all know.
When you read this book for the first time, have you been tempted, to stop there, or did you want to see, the final door, at the top of the Tower ?
I have to admit, that i almost took his advice.

spideyman wireman wolf darkharbinger kingfamilyfan drawntokatet edwardjohn I am a happy ending person, but alas I also live in the real world. The words were there on the next page. The muse spoke and the "destination" was a page turn away. I read onward. Remember- Ka is a wheel, yes, it was the "right" ending.

I think the ending of TDT is what happens when someone embarks on a massive, epic story with no real ending in mind. A la ... Game of Thrones.

I started reading the dark tower when I was in middle school, by the time the last book came out I was a grown man and had been a part of Roland's world for years. There was no way I could stop right there. And I won't lie I was pissed at the ending, but I understood that was the only way it could end...

I had to keep on keepin’ on. You know, one of those times you just gotta strap on and say, “Let’s go.” ….knowing full well that it probably wasn’t gonna be anything nice. 🙂
